I am posting this on my CCNA blog because this has been a pain in my Arse for so long. I finally found the right codec for my Windows Media Player 11. Go figure MS doesn’t have all that is needed right out of the box. That is what sucks about MS nothing works right out of the box and I mean never.

You don’t need to cross all your goals off your list every day, but you can chip away daily. When you get up in the morning, set a daily objective for yourself and make sure you achieve it. This will give you a sense of accomplishment and keep you feeling good about your progress.

Give yourself “me time” before work.
Going into a job you hate will be worse if you get to the office feeling rushed, stressed and frazzled. Set aside some moments of solitude each morning.

Develop a positive morning ritual.
Treat yourself to a latte, get up early enough to read the paper, or just set your alarm to play upbeat music when you wake up. Improving your mornings can do wonders for the rest of your day.

Create a diversion for yourself in the office.
Does being in your office make you yearn for the outdoors? Are the incessant ringing phones driving you batty? Do something to brighten your mood while you’re at work. Take in a tropical picture and use it as your screensaver. Buy yourself a “joke of the day” desk calendar. Plug headphones into your computer or bring your iPod to work. Go out for lunch.

Use your time to develop your skills.
Hating your job doesn’t mean you can’t learn new skills. Use your time to make yourself a better candidate down the road. If your company offers training courses, take advantage of them. Use downtime to learn something new on your computer. Pick up a management development book and read it at lunch. Turn this job into an opportunity for self-improvement.

Blow off some steam.
Most people have an activity that helps them unwind and get rid of tension. Go for a run after work, go swimming on your lunch hour, or take a nice long walk. Put this activity on your schedule so you will have something to look forward to every day.

Treat yourself.
To make up for your office misery, find little ways of treating yourself. Buy a good book to read. Treat yourself to ice cream. Buy some flowers. Shop for a new interview suit. Plan your next vacation. Find out what makes you feel better inside, no matter what is going on outside.

Maintain your performance.
It is important to continue to do your work and do it well, regardless of your current situation. Set personal performance goals. Then use the accomplishments in future interviews.

Keep your bridges intact.
It really is a small world, and you never know when you will run into co-workers from your past. Don’t burn any bridges at your company because you are unhappy. Maintain your contacts and keep your relationships positive. You might just need a reference or a good word from one of your colleagues in the future.

Realize that this too shall pass.
Right now, it might seem like you will be stuck in this job forever. Keep your chin up and remind yourself that you are in charge of your destiny. Search internal postings for new positions. Start your search for a new job externally.

Yo dogs! I am back and I am working on my BSCI exam. But first I have to refresh myself. Man havent touched my lab in months. I have been working on a physics class and any of you ever take physics you understand me.

but I think once my class is done I will have some weekly time to devote to CCNP BSCI and hope to get my blog back up and running to post my results.

My concern now is this:

1. IPV6 practice
2. Subnetting practice
3.    (VLSM practice- U+1)
4.    (Route summarization. L =)
5. Routing Practice BSCI

this to me is the scope of things for BSCI..trying to do alittle each day where I am doing it each day as if I had a job doing it. I have seen guys who do it all day study a week and bam they hammer the exam. I try to make it real world.

I found these nice diagrams off of ebay. Some company is putting together Voip training labs . They are 1500.00 each plus liks 250.00 S/H but man if I had the 2000.00 to spend I would get this lab very nice…..It is so hard to put all the pieces to gether when you are dealing with limited time. Me I think it is importan to put each piece together but I do not have all kinds of free time so it makes sense if you have the money I would get this lab; nice start

Hey Dudes. I just got my new Cisco Skeletek 28U rack. I love it. Here are some pictures to get you started. I want to explain how it went building this.

Tips:

If you can use Skeleteks universal butterfly type mounts see the top router 2511 has the butterfly mounts. They are way better than the four bolts ones. I mean way easier to install. So if you can get those, get them. I used a power drill to put most of the mounts in, but had to use a manual drill (my hand and nut driver) to get them started. Do not want to use power drill to get them started. Strips the nut you have behind it, and your fingers. OUCH! I will list what this new CCNP lab is all about. I also plan to work with VOIP as well. So I will be buying some 100.00 or less IP phones soon off of ebay and when I have my entire lab wired and phones I will post the finish product. My new CCNP/VP lab.. Here are the devices from top to bottom.

1. ASA 5505 my new sweet firewall with ASDM and CLI

2. To the right is Cisco Aironet 1200 Series Wireless Access Point

3. 3 x 2950 Cisco Cat Switches

4. Cisco 1760 router with FXO, FXS card slots

5. Cisco 2520 router configured as  Frame-relay switch.

6. Cisco 2610 router

7. 2 x 2520 Cisco routers

8. 1 x 2501 Cisco router on the bottom.

9. All mounted on a rolling 28 u Skeletek rack

Hey I have watched a  lot of CBTs even CBTnuggets. CBT nuggets programming java vids are okay. But the best java CBT is TeachPro Java beginning to intermediate.why? because this guys uses notepad and types out all his code and it covers everything. The guy is alittle dry talking but he walks you through everything .if you can get your hands this course best I have seen out there. You will be programming in Java like a pro when done with this course. freaking Awesome!11!

Oh yeah any books by the company Deitel – remember that name; these books are huge but they are spectacular books on programming; best I have ever seen; even better than the 21 day books DEITEL is the best in programming books examples and then outputs and explain blow by blow why they code that way; awesome!

I bought a course in JAVA from hyperteach.com and it sucks…the guy just reads from some book and shows program examples while just talking about them…what a rip off piece of crap..makes you wonder if his authored books he has were really him..he has an amazing voice but if you really watch it it is a waste of you time….he has a great radio voice but sucks as a teacher in my opinion. No walk through line by line. He shows you an entire program and then just talks while the mouse sits still. Never guy from hyperteach they are crap CBTs just to get your money..I was taken in…this has been my experience…
